Dreamin'

When our sweet Beau passed away in October Brad and I knew we would not be able to make it very long without a Dane in the house. It's not something that you can understand without owning one yourself, they are truly special. We were planning to have our new girl shipped from Canada in the spring in time for our anniversary in April. As fate would have it, my 'plan' seemed to slip through my fingers and, as a shock to me, a pup from Oklahoma (sing with me now...Ooooohhhhk-lahoma!) fell into our laps. So last Thursday I hopped on a plane to meet my brother in Denver Colorado. Yup, you read that right, I flew to Denver to drive home with my Great Dane puppy that I purchased from a breeder in Oklahoma (let's sing again!...). And guess what... she was worth it!

It went a little like this:

My brother and Alex just happen to be in Oklahoma (tired of singing yet?) and eagerly visit the litter of puppies for me.

After agonizing over whether or not this is the right choice, I decide to jump in and go get our girl.

My brother and Alex drive sweet Bella from Okie up to Denver to pick me up at the airport.

We stay near Vail, Colorado for the night so that we can ooh and aah through the mountain pass the next day.

Friday we drive from Colorado to Utah stopping in Arches National park along the way.

Saturday everyone goes skiing while Aunt Marlene and I play with Bella.

Sunday we make the final drive from Utah to California and arrive in time for dinner at Mom and Dad's.

Sunday night to present: we soak up every moment with 'little' Bella before she grows into a big girl over night. We can see her changing every day!

If I'm dreaming, don't wake me...
