Someday my prince will come!

Somehow all the cute pictures ended up on Nana's camera. So I may edit this later. But for now I am just glad to have a spare second to post something about our fun Halloween! The kids' costumes were themed as usual. Amber was Cinderella, Caitlin was Anastasia (the step-sister), and our sweet Drew was Prince Charming. I dusted off the ol' sewing machine for Drew's custom costume. The girls' dresses were from Marshalls (love that place).

This is Amber with her semi-permanent gatorade mustache. Not looking a whole lot like Cinderella here, but she is our little princess. : )

Somehow I managed to not take a single picture of Caitlin in her dress, but I'll add one of her later. No time to scan in the picture people shot we got of all three.

So instead I'll add Drew's "first halloween" shots:

I wonder if they'll ever make it into a scrapbook... poor third child.

Technically...

Our dogs are not aloud on our furniture...

But the giant one has discovered that it is only his paws that are forbidden. And since he is tall enough to simply sit on the couch, he continues to push the limit on the "rules".

Sitting on the couch is a very common tendency with Great Danes. We did not teach him this, he just does it.

But he also seems to think he is a lap dog and LOVES to snuggle with Brad. But this picture was too fun not to share. Here is our little lap dog snuggling with his daddy:

Technically he's not on the couch, right?

Yay Little Bee

Finally in preschool!

Fun at the State Fair

Monday was Labor Day (but you already knew that) and Brad was actually home for a holiday... amazing! It took us a while to decide what to do with our time together. Thanks to Brad's Mom, Kathy, we were able to score free tickets, parking, and rides at the State Fair. Sounded fun enough so we packed up the show and headed for Cal Expo. It never ceases to amaze me how much equipment is required to take a baby anywhere. But I like to be prepared (you already knew that too). Brad has taken to calling me the "boy scout" because I always have something up my sleeve in a surprise situation. Well, prepared or not, we had a great time!

Because Brad was with us we had to start the day with a meal. Drew seems to have inherited many traits from his daddy (some inappropriate for internet discussion) but the need to eat every two-and-a-half to three hours seems to be the most prevalent similarity between my boys. So a good ol' $40 fair lunch was in order. At least it tasted decent.

After lunch we found plenty of animals to touch:

feed:

and ride (for a price):

The girls found a place to cool off. Notice "little bee" plugging her nose. When asked about her safety precaution she matter-of-factly replied, "Well I don't want to get water up my nose!"

Drew kept cool in his own shady spot for a while but did insist on being Mama's personal heater later in the day as I gave in to his request to be held.

We ended the day with a couple quick fair rides before all patience was lost. We were getting much too close to Brad's three hour maximum between meals. And we weren't about to drop another $50 on food. The rides were great for little kids. You will notice my knees carefully wedged into the seat. This was a common position for me on the rides. Glad I didn't pay for them.

It was a great day at the State Fair.
