Here we sit. Still waiting. Oh so familiar.
The other day I ran across a great article on Facebook about "When God makes us wait." It talked about Moses in the desert for 40 years, Joseph in prison for 10 years, Abraham without a child for 100 years, and David running for his life for 15 years.
"Maybe He is keeping you right where you are at for the same reason He kept these men for so many years: to build your faith."
I know this. It is not new information. But hearing it again had power and I want to remember:
"If He is telling you 'no' today maybe it is because He has a better 'yes' waiting for your tomorrow."
"If He is keeping you in the same place you have always been today, maybe it is because He is helping build your faith before you enter your Promised Land tomorrow."
"If He is not healing you or bringing you victory today, maybe it is because you will have a greater testimony when He waits to help you be an overcomer tomorrow."
Our wait for travel dates to China felt like an eternity. But if we had not waited and traveled in July we never would have met Jenny and we likely would not have been lead to our son before he aged out. God's timing was perfect. It will be perfect again. There is a purpose. This is somehow going to be better than what I had planned for. This is somehow necessary. God would not have called us to this, told us to hurry, and then had us wait without a purpose.
It will be beautiful.
