Jacob seems to have a target on his forehead. Since discovering that he can walk all on his own, Jacob's enthusiasm has grown much faster than his ability. He hits his head on everything!
My first three kiddos were extremely cautious when they first started walking. If they wobbled even a tiny bit they would sit down. Drew was so overly cautious he didn't start walking for extended distances until he was nearly 16 months old even though he had the ability before his first birthday. Both the girls were equally as cautious and would move very slowly and seemed to calculate every step.
Not Jay. We call him the drunken sailor because no matter how he lists and wobbles those legs just keep going. It would be quite comical if it didn't end so frequently with a crash and burn.
I think I can currently count 8 different lumps, bumps, scratches, bruises, goose eggs, or marks on his little noggin. And as luck would have it he has his very first exam with his pediatrician this Wednesday. Great. Mother-of-the-year here we come.
The only upside to frequent crashing is Jacob is learning to express pain and not only accept but even seek comfort from mom! It's a tough way to learn though...
