I thought it would be nice to have the kids make something special for Brad and I to take to Jacob for "gotcha day". The kids loved the idea and had a great time making a present for "Baby Jay".

We needed something simple and functional so we chose a 'tag blanket'. I wanted to be sure all three kids were directly involved so I let Drew pick the ribbon for the 'tags'. Unfortunately he was so enthusiastic about his task I was unable to get any pictures of him while I was chasing spools of ribbon down the isles of the fabric department.

We chose a quiet Sunday morning to begin the assembly which will hopefully explain the pajamas in the photos...

Drew was in charge of opening all the ribbon.

Then Amber measured and marked each 'tag' for cutting.

 

Drew was excited to cut the tags for the first couple minutes, then his sisters took over while he rode his plasma car through the kitchen at top speed.

Caitlin was the only one with enough patience to pin the tags in place for sewing.

Then both the girls took turns sewing semi-straight lines.
