Last Day in Utah

We chose to stay in Utah through the weekend and Monday rather than hurrying home after the wedding in order to have one more day for excursions. The plan was to drive to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide the first half of the day and then go to a public pool in the afternoon. The public pools are more like small water parks in Utah.

At 2 am Amber came into my room crying. The little virus Drew started the week with had passed through Caity and Jacob and now hit Amber. Being sick is a very different experience for Amber than our other kids. Caity had a fever for about a day and a half and just laid quietly on the couch. Most of the family didn't even know she was sick. Jacob never had a fever but just had some tummy issues. Again, most of the family didn't know he was sick. But when Amber is sick, everybody knows. It was not the way I was hoping to start our last "adventure" day. I really needed more than 3 hours of sleep and a few cat naps on the floor next to the couch in the wee hours of the morning.

Fortunately, my mom offered to stay behind at the house so that I could still take all the other kids on our planned adventures.

We all enjoyed the Alpine Slide, some shaved ice, and lunch in Park City.

"Mom! You right here!" Justin was very concerned about me taking pictures instead of getting on the slide. He wanted to be sure we went at the same time.

We stopped at the house for a power nap for mom and to check in on Amber before going to the pool. Then it was off to the super cool "community pool." We need these here.

Justin didn't quite get the hang of it...

Jacob and Drew LOVED the lazy river.

This kiddie pool was like a bath. So cozy.

Before we left we enjoyed a beautiful double rainbow.

After swimming we enjoyed a fabulous dinner of BBQ burgers and hot dogs. The kids enjoyed a movie night while mom packed and prepped for the ride home. Then it was off to bed... or so I thought.
