Expanding

Jacob's little world started to grow yesterday. I have kept most of the house off-limits for our first week to encourage face time and avoid over stimulation. Since things are going well, I decided to experiment with the toy room yesterday. He knew it was there, but the door had been kept closed. Playing in the toy room for the first time was fun to watch. He was fascinated. I am sure he is wondering why on earth I would keep such a cool place closed to him...

He handled the room well. No signs of over stimulation or manic behavior. He didn't have any melt downs or trouble settling into nap later. And he was still able to focus on the toy in his possession for a reasonable amount of time. So, unless his response changes, his little world just got a little bigger.

We also tried some more outdoor play in the walker. He is going to fit into the Krinke family just fine with his love of the outdoors. He was very content to just sit and look at the trees. And once he figured out how to maneuver the walker a whole new world of fun opened up.

This is as big as his world will get while at home. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room doors stay closed until my babies are big enough to open them on their own. So we are progressing. One small baby step at a time...
